A Guitarist in Chicago

Greetings and Welcome!

I am a guitarist based in Chicago. I work primarily as a solo guitarist providing background music for parties and events of all kinds and increasingly in concert settings.

I perform a unique repertoire of old school popular, classical and folkloric guitar music from across Latin America. I learned this music from a decade-long apprenticeship with Chilean guitar master Alfonso Chacón (1934-2011).

Anytime I play you'll be hearing a mix of music from Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile and Puerto Rico. From rootsy and tropical cocktail party music to elegant romantic ambience.

In addition to solo guitar I perform with Argentine-born singer Laura Ricci as Duo Balderrama, check out our debut self-titled album released in Spring 2026!
